Budget & Reserve Studies

Assessments are set by the entire membership of the BWCA at each annual meeting, which is usually held at the beginning of April each year. The Board of Directors prepares a proposed budget based on prior years’ expenses and anticipated future needs. This proposal can be, and usually is, modified before it is approved by the membership as a whole.

Reserve studies are conducted by third-party financial and engineering firms to assess the health of BWCA’s finances and provide estimates for future maintenance and repairs BWCA and its members are financially responsible for. These do not occur every year because estimates do not change that drastically from year-to-year.
