HOA Board Meeting 2022-09-22
Called to order at 06:31pm
Alycia, Robyn, Andrew & Tim present.
Topics:
- Little Free Library request from community member Tara
- Around $300 to get the library box, $80 for the post. Install is additional and would need to be arranged separately
- Curious about what the HOA approval process is
- Understands the need for RA approvals
- MissUtility would need to do a survey at location requested
- Has 5 neighbors who are interested
- Location is desired to be by the ‘Fairy House’ just past bridge, but on RA property. This may not be doable if on RA property. Alternates may be near stairs towards Armstrong, or at Tot-lot or at bottom of path (edge of BWCA property) towards pool on South side of cluster.
- Board requested a quote for firm price of unit to have it decided at next Annual Meeting and to properly budget for next year.
- Will look into having an informal survey on Nextdoor or Facebook to measure the interest. Also mention on next newsletter.
- Tara had contacted Fairfax County regarding the condition of some Comcast boxes in the common grass areas behind the homes. Fairfax County notified Comcast about the issue and requested it be rectified.
- Trash Service–need new company
- Legal meeting talked about Service contracts, such as for Trash service
- Haulin’ Trash had lots of positive reviews. They seem to be really busy with new contracts, so service received may not be what is expected.
- Will reach out to a couple of providers recommended by neighboring clusters to get quotes.
- Robyn update from RA legal meeting
- Ensure contractors doing work for the cluster have liability insurance just in case they receive injuries. Cluster should have umbrella coverage insurance
- Board Meeting rules
- Neighbor to Neighbor disputes
- Solar Panels & EV Charger – Update bylaws to account for these topics
- Will request the documents from the meeting, and consult with our lawyer
- Post on Nextdoor to other clusters, how they are dealing with EV chargers.
- Do they have chargers?
- Do they have updated bylaws, etc
- Electrical light pole rotting
- Will reach out to light repair company about how to replace the pole.
- May need to contact RA about what kind of poles we can use, can one be replaced that is different vs replacing all so all match.
